About Us

A Team Of Experienced Captains

We started Get Hooked Charters out of a love for our hometown of Galveston and a passion for fishing. Over the past few decades, our team has grown to include some of the most knowledgeable, experienced, and equally passionate captains from the Texas coast. We pride ourselves on hosting guests of all experience levels and sharing the best fishing charters the Galveston area has to offer.

Target Species

We target a mix of iconic species inshore, nearshore, and offshore.

Wahoo

Wahoo are typically found in deeper waters, often around reefs, wrecks, and offshore structures. The peak season for wahoo fishing in Galveston generally occurs during the winter months, from November to March.

Cobia

Cobia are a prized eating fish often found near floating objects such as buoys, rigs, and shrimp boats. The peak season for cobia fishing in Galveston typically occurs during the spring and summer months.

Shark

Off the coast of Galveston, anglers encounter a variety of shark species, including Blacktip, Spinner, Bonnethead, and Bull Sharks. Peak times for shark fishing can vary depending on the species and water temperature.

Red Snapper

The peak season for red snapper fishing in the Gulf of Mexico typically occurs during the summer months, usually from late May to late July. These hard-fighting and great-eating fish are one of our favorite species.

Flounder

Flounder are a fun-fighting and great eating species we commonly catch. Peak flounder fishing seasons in Galveston generally occur during the spring and fall, when water temperatures are more moderate.

Redfish

We primarily target Redfish around structure like jetties and piers. The best time to target them is during the fall months, particularly September through November, when larger "bull reds" migrate through the area.

Tuna

The peak season for catching tuna off the Galveston coast generally occurs during the summer months, typically from June to September. We have a mix of Yellowfin, Blackfin, and Skipjack Tuna.

Grouper

ff the coast of Galveston we have several species of grouper, including Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, and Black Grouper. These fish are typically found around reefs, wrecks, and artificial structures in deeper waters.

Spotted Seatrout

Spotted seatrout are one of the most prized catches on our inshore trips with excellent fights and delicious flavor. The peak season for speckled trout fishing is generally during the spring and fall.

Amberjack

Amberjack are often found around reefs, wrecks, and offshore structures. While amberjack can be caught year-round, the spring and summer months typically offer the best opportunities for catching them.

Mahi Mahi

These vibrant fish are often found near floating objects like buoys, logs, and weed lines. The peak season for mahi-mahi fishing in Galveston typically occurs during the summer months, from late spring through early fall.
