Beginner Galveston Bay Fishing Trips

Our family-friendly charters are perfect for those new to fishing, including families with young children. These shorter trips focus on enjoying a relaxing day on the water within and near the marina area. Whether you’re eager to learn basic fishing techniques, simply want to soak up the scenery of the bay, or are looking for a short and enjoyable getaway, our beginner-friendly charters offer a welcoming and relaxed experience for anglers of all ages and skill levels.

Target Species

The Galveston area is home to some of the most popular sportfish and best-eating fish in the Gulf. You can expect to encounter a variety of popular inshore species, including redfish, speckled trout, flounder, black drum, sting rays, alligator gar, and sheepshead.

Where We Fish

We’re focusing on areas closer to shore, around piers, docks, the Intracoastal Waterway, railroad tracks, and causeway bridges—basically spots near the marina and the surrounding bay that attract fish. These sheltered locations provide a calm and enjoyable fishing experience, perfect for beginners and families.

What's Included

We have everything taken care of! When you arrive at the Harborwalk Marina, the boat is loaded with fuel, the rods are rigged, and the cooler is loaded with ice. Your professional, USCG-certified captain will have bait ready for your Galveston inshore fishing trip and is there to help every step of the way.

Safety is our top priority on our beginner fishing charters. You can be as hands-on or hands-off as you like when it comes to rigging bait and handling fish. We want you to have that epic picture and memory but always prioritize safe handling.

What To Bring

Come prepared for the weather with comfortable clothing and sun protection. We have a cooler loaded with ice, so bring your waters, snacks, lunches, and other beverages for your group for the day. Your captain will be in touch leading up to your trip to go over what to bring in more detail and we’re always here to answer any questions you may have.
